Lenney Family Accessibility Challenge
Executive Director Jean Marie Procious and JP Lenney discuss plans for an easily navigable path to the Athenaeum's front door.
Over the past few years, the ten steps to the Athenaeum’s front door have become an insurmountable obstacle for member JP Lenney. Attending an event takes pre-planning and assistance and he misses being able to drop in, attend programs in person, and fully participate in the Athenaeum community. He is not alone in finding himself prevented from enjoying this treasured place.
JP and Mary Pax Lenney and their daughter, Anna are launching the Lenney Family Accessibility Challenge to jumpstart the Athenaeum’s capital campaign to remove this obstacle in 2024 and create an accessible entrance to the building.
The Lenneys have pledged to match your gift dollar for dollar up to $10,000!
This accessible entrance is in phase one of a project to make the Athenaeum fully accessible, including installing an elevator for access to all floors of the building.
Please consider making a gift of any size today to help us match the $10,000 that the Lenney Family has so generously pledged.
