Welcome Winter Solstice

Welcome Winter Solstice with us as we celebrate the shortest day of the year, the longer ones ahead, and Jane Austen's 250th birthday (December 16)!

The celebration will start promptly at 3:00 p.m. with a special performance of scenes and monologues from Austen's novels by local actors Julie and Bryan Butters (approx. 30 minutes). Heartfelt thanks to Agatha Morrell, member of the Jane Austen Society of North America and Salem Athenaeum, for commissioning and funding this part of the program.

Following the performance, we will celebrate the solstice Austen style with 19th century games and treats!

Refreshments and plenty of good cheer included!
